Attachment and relationships

The Key to How We Do Relationships

Do you want to improve your connections with others?  Are you tired of making the same choices in relationships and getting the same results?  Are you curious about how you can make changes to get what you need in your relationships?

Attachment is formed from birth and extends throughout our lives.  Depending on whether a child's mother is attentive and nurturing, or sporadic and somewhat unavailable or smothering;  a child forms how they relate to the world.  It sets up the question "Is the world safe or unsafe?". In response, a child may develop Secure Attachment Style (the world is safe) or Insecure Attachment (the world is unsafe).

In therapy we can explore how your individual attachment style affects your relationships and your interactions in the world.  The good news is that a person's attachment style can be changed through exploration, CBT to develop healthy coping skills, and mindfulness techniques.

Let's take a look at your attachment style and develop strategies so you can be more open, present, grounded and authentic in all of your interactions with others.
